PATRICIA LEIGH POWELL

Licensed Professional Counselor


I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Marriage and Family  Therapist, with over 25 years of clinical experience in transformational  counseling, mind/body and stress reduction therapies.                                

I incorporate  meditation/mindfulness  practices , breath work, Jungian mandala work, Tibetan singing bowls and  music evoked imagery (Bonny Guided Imagery and Music).


 

MIND/BODY SPECIALITY TRAININGS 

Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, meditation and yoga training intensive professional training with Dr Jon Kabat-Zinn at Omega Institute in Rhinebeck, NY.


Certified in Clinical Hypnosis through American Society of Clinical Hypnosis including specialized training and supervision.


Completed four year training and certification through The Mid-Atlantic Bonny Method of Guided Imagery and Music (Music Evoked Imagery) using the transformational power of music to move through unconscious blocks and engage resources for positive change.


Completed training in Guided Imagery through Academy for Guided Imagery, Mill Valley, CA.; two levels of training. 


Completed and Certified in Mandala Assessment Research, use of mandala drawings and assessment as a transformational tool in therapy.


Acutonics  training Levels one and two, using  tibetan bowls, tuning forks and other vibration tools for healing and often incorporated in my work with music therapy.


Breath Work Immersion  training at Omega Institute, Rhinebeck, NY, with many of the researchers  and practitioners in the field of mind-body breath techniques.


Certified Teacher of Breath-Body-Mind for Transformation and Wellbeing;  the training program of Drs Richard P. Brown and Patricia Gerbarg,  integrative psychiatrists, authors and researchers presented at Kripalu  Center for Yoga and Health, Lenox, MA.

National Institute for Clinical Application Of Behavioral Medicine: residential and online trainings in mind/body techniques, research in neuroscience and applications for therapy practice.
